A Breakthrough in Multiple Sclerosis??

Is being called a major breakthrough in the battle against MS. Researchers from England are using stem cells to attack the major problem in multiple sclerosis. MS is caused by a defect in the body's immune system. The body turns on itself and attacks what is known as the myelin sheath. It is this sheath which allows nerve signals be transferred. The myelin sheath is a type of insulating layer. The idea of regenerating it is revolutionary. Scientists believe this could potentially pave the way to find medications that could help repair damage. The researchers are quick to point out this is not a cure by major first step in the battle against MS.
