Why This Blog Can Help Prevent Foodborne Infections

The numbers are surprising and they are dramatic. According to a report from The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in six Americans or 48 million people get sick from tainted food each year. Of particular concern is the fact that only about 10 million of the 40 million annual illnesses were the result of known food borne pathogens. 8/10 were from causes that are listed as unspecified. Of the known causes, salmonella was the leading cause of hospitalizations and deaths and was responsible for 20% of the deaths and 35% of the hospitalizations.. Experts say one of the newest advances in the battle against these infections is the fact that there is a great deal of communication on the Internet. Social networking is one way in which these problems are discussed in the radio transmission is reduced. Of course the best way to prevent problems is to properly cook food, wash your hands before and after eating, and make sure that you keep all cooking surfaces clean
