Obesity and Diabetes

It has been a mystery to modern medicine. We know that people who are obese are more likely to develop type two diabetes, but why does it happen? I n recent months there has been quite a bit of research looking at the issue. According to research in the journal Nature, inflammation within the fat tissues of heavy individuals could trigger the blood sugar disease. This information is based on four independent studies from three countries and two continents. The good news (and consistent news) throughout the studies was that interrupting this process in mice reversed the problem. This has major implications because twenty three million people have type two diabetes.
Dr Vivian Fonseca is a leading researcher involved with the latest information. I spoke with him a month ago and he is extremely optimistic about the future of diabetes care. However, he says the key is weight control.
