Diabetes: The Key is Control

It's a natural reaction to being given a life-altering diagnosis. But the key point to understand with diabetes is that by using diet and medication, if necessary, to control the blood sugar, it can make a very real difference and dramatically cut down on the long-term risks of the condition. A report in the New England Journal of Medicine echoes this sentiment. Aggressive treatment of diabetes with good blood sugar control and drugs to reduce the excess heart risks that come with diabetes cuts patients' death risk by about half. Diabetes needs to be controlled. Careful monitoring and measurement are extremely crucial
