Women and Heart Attack Risk

It’s important news for any woman, especially women who are approaching menopause. According to a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association, minor abnormalities in the EKG can predict if a seemingly healthy postmenopausal woman is at risk for heart attack or even death. The new information is all part of a growing amount of information surrounding women and heart disease. There was a time when women were virtually ignored in heart studies. That has changed. The study looked at about 15,000 women between the ages of 50 and 79. All had EKGs done at the start of the study.
