Rosacea: A Puzzling Problem

It is estimated that 15 million Americans suffer from a condition called rosacea. People with the condition suffer from long-term redness of the cheeks, nose and skin. There is a suspected link between hot and spicy foods and alcohol that can cause some of the symptoms, but these are definitely not the only causes. There are many who never touch alcohol but suffer from rosacea. There may be good news from the University of San Diego where a researcher thinks he may have found a potential cause at the chemical level. According to the scientist, the overproduction of two inflammatory proteins and their subsequent interaction lead to the rise of a third protein that causes rosacea. It is an interesting discussion.
